본 논문에서는 사람의 미소의 가장 큰 요소인 입술의 펼침(labial spreading)에 주목하여 입술의 펼침이 기쁜 감정의 구분에 영향을 줄 수 있는 요소로 인식 될 수 있음을 분석한다. 입술의 펼침으로 발화된 감정을 배제한 음성과 감정을 담아 발화한 음성의 통해 F2와 F3의 증감 경향을 얻었고, F2의 증가가 기쁨 감정을 결정하는 특성으로 사용할 수 있음을 결론지을 수 있다.
